Le Dr Marie a obtenu son doctorat en neurosciences à l’University College de Londres, au Royaume-Uni, en 2000. Elle a ensuite effectué sa formation postdoctorale à l’Université de Stanford dans le laboratoire du Dr Malenka. En 2005, elle est devenue chef de groupe indépendante à l’Institut européen de recherche sur le cerveau (EBRI) à Rome, en Italie. En 2010, elle s’installe en France pour intégrer le CNRS à l’Institut de Pharmacologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire (IPMC) de Sophia-Antipolis, créant ainsi son équipe ATIP-Avenir. Dr Marie continue actuellement de diriger cette équipe de recherche (codirigée par le Dr Barik) et ses projets de recherche visent à comprendre les mécanismes synaptiques menant à la perte de mémoire dans la maladie d’Alzheimer. Ses travaux récents ont mis en évidence le rôle de différents peptides dérivés de la protéine précurseur de l’amyloïde (APP) dans la modulation de la fonction synaptique. Depuis 2024, elle est également devenue directrice adjointe de l’IPMC.
