About

Since the creation of the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology in 1989, the biomolecule analysis platform has played a major role in several IPMC projects.

The platform specializes in the mass spectrometry analysis of proteins, lipids, and metabolites. The platform's engineers are involved at several levels, including: project planning and documentation (feasibility, experimental design, cost), sample preparation, optimization and execution of mass spectrometry analyses, data interpretation, and results dissemination.

The platform's capabilities apply to two main themes: proteomic analysis and lipidomic/metabolomic analysis.

Applications

In the field of proteomics, the platform offers various applications such as:
– the identification of proteins from complex mixtures,
– the relative quantification of proteins by targeted and non-targeted approaches without labeling (label-free quantification),
– the characterization of post-translational modifications and
– quality control of recombinant proteins (quality, purity…)
– the detailed characterization of living molecules (e.g., degradation of neuropeptides…).

In the field of lipidomics/metabolomics, the platform offers the following applications:
– Identification and relative quantification of lipids in complex mixtures – Analysis of targeted lipids or metabolites
– Characterization and relative quantification of metabolites present in complex mixtures
