82 students from the "Objectives: Orientation & Success" program, from four schools in the region (Lycée International de Valbonne, colleges Pablo Picasso, Georges Sand and Simone Veil), experienced a total immersion on the theme of "Sports activities, nutrition and health" alongside leading researchers from the CNRS and Inserm.

  • The wet scientific challenge: Romain Barrès (CNRS research director, geneticist and obesity specialist at the IPMC) completed a 1 km swim from the nautical base to the Guérite beach.
    • The practical exercise: The students calculated live the researcher's actual energy expenditure during his effort!
    • The scientific conference: Dr. Barrès gave a scientific lecture on the theme of "Sports activities, nutrition and health" during which he informed students about the latest advances in the field, decoding the stereotypes associated with this theme. 
  • "Decode your snack" workshop & Olympics: While one group of students competed at sea in kayak and paddleboard races, the other hunted for hidden sugars and cooked healthy snacks with Olfa Khalfallah (INSERM researcher in neurobiology at the IPMC).
