About

After obtaining a bachelor's degree in Cell Biology and Physiology from the University of Lille, Laure began her first-year master's internship in February 2023 with our team, where she studied the mechanisms of salience detection in the laterodorsal tegmental nucleus. The following year, thanks to the EUR LIFE mobility grant, she joined Silvana Valtcheva's laboratory in Cologne, Germany, where she focused on studying postpartum brain adaptations. Building on these experiences, she completed a master's degree in Neuroscience at Université Côte d'Azur in 2024.

In September 2024, Laure began her PhD in our team, following the award of a ministerial doctoral scholarship. Her research focuses on the role of the midbrain in the brain-heart axis and its implications for emotional regulation.
To carry out her research, she introduced telemetry for ECG recordings in our laboratory and uses techniques such as viral tracing via stereotaxic surgeries, optogenetics combined with behavioral analyses.

Outside of her research activities, Laure is part of the Doc-postdoc-ITA committee of the IPMC.
