News: 🏅 Congratulations to Bruno Antonny, research director at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology, for receiving the prestigious Feodor Lynen medal, awarded by the German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

He was awarded this distinction on March 26th during the society's annual conference.
Following the Emile Jungfleisch Grand Prize from the Academy of Sciences in 2023, this new recognition acknowledges more than 25 years of research conducted by Bruno Antonny and his team on cell membranes.
🔬 Their work has notably led to three major advances:
• to show that the curvature of membranes constitutes genuine cellular information; ;
• demonstrate that the directional transport of cholesterol in the cell relies on the consumption of another lipid, PI4P; ;
• reveal that polyunsaturated lipids, particularly omega-3 and omega-6, facilitate membrane deformation thanks to their high molecular flexibility.
These discoveries contribute to a better understanding of the essential link between lipids and the proper functioning of cells.
