- Three chamber testThe three-chamber test (photo) is one of the key tests in the study of social interactions in mice. It quantifies an animal's preference for a conspecific over an inanimate object (social preference) or their preference for a new conspecific over a known one (social novelty preference). Unlike the free interaction test, the interactors are not placed directly in contact with the tested animal.
