About

Motor tests allow us to explore the spontaneous motor skills of animals as well as their motor learning abilities.
Devices available on the platform:

  • RotarodThe Rotarod is one of the most widely used devices for measuring the motor skills and motor learning abilities of rodents. The animals must learn to adopt a coordinated gait on a rotating horizontal cylinder that can accelerate.

  • Mast testIn this test, animals must cross a flat or cylindrical pole of varying width. This task requires efficient motor skills. This test therefore allows for the detection of motor deficits.

  • Test of the perforated floorThe device used in this test consists of an enclosure with a false floor. This false floor is made of thin metal rods. The number of times the animals stumble (a leg falling between two rods) is an indicator of motor deficit.
